Hi everyone:

Instead of a course-specific questionnaire, I have created a very open-ended survey. Please follow the link and fill it in. Thank you in advance for your feedback, positive or negative. I take it seriously and appreciate it very much.

A Lovely Sunday Afternoon

Quick, before spring’s temporary arrival is over here are some pics from a visit to the Ganaraska Millenium Conservation Area . This is my second time using my new 180mm macro lens – just getting the hang of it. Though everything is still brown the sun makes it look happier.

Maple Leaf Gardens Protest

Lonely in a crowd again. I couldn’t find anyone from YM so I joined the march and ended up in a great spot right in front of Maple Leaf Gardens. Teachers make great signs.

As a surprise Val took me to the PrimRose donkey sanctuary in Roseneath, about half an hour away from our cottage. Here are some of the lovely donkeys and mules. They take donations if you’re interested.

Christmas Backyard

By , December 25, 2012 2:49 pm

On Christmas day I checked out my backyard: what a mess. However, there’s always something to take a picture of. This time I tried to shoot some man-made things as opposed to just my usual leaves and natural detritus.

Multitasking

By , December 2, 2012 4:23 pm

I was not multitasking when I saw this program on the PBS science program called Nova Science Now about a month ago about teenagers who claim that they are able to focus when needed despite normally being major multitaskers.

Read this article, particularly the part about the work of Clifford Nass and Eyal Ophir at Stanford University. It may surprise you. It may also explain why your teacher is always telling you to focus on one thing at a time. It turns out it’s a valuable skill even in this infomated world.
